Thrown across the farthest reaches of India, obscured from the greater world by ageless forests and formidable mountain ranges, the Northeast States are one of Asia's last natural and anthropological sanctuaries. Sharing borders with Bhutan, Tibet, Nepal, Myanmar (Burma) and Bangladesh, these remote frontiers are a region of rugged beauty and a collision zone of ancient tribal cultures, rich wildlife, untouched landscapes and original peoples.

Northeast India is Asia's last great wilderness — home to one-horned rhinos, cloud forests, and tribal cultures unchanged for centuries.

Our Mission

"We don't just show you this world.
We connect you with the people fighting to save it."

Inspiring Green Journeys

Northeast India remains one of Asia's last frontiers—a land where over 200 tribal communities maintain traditions their ancestors practiced for millennia. We don't believe in "human safaris" or spectacle tourism. We believe in slow travel, in sitting around fires with families, in walking ancient trails with local guides who share a lifetime of knowledge.

Our journeys benefit the communities who welcome you into their homes, and we trust you'll leave behind not just green footprints, but carry back real tales of this enchanting land.

Of the People, For the People

Our responsibility to tribal communities is the ethical root of what we do. We facilitate honest exchange between travellers and locals—developing appreciation, mutual understanding, and respect. Tourism here benefits the people who call this land home.

Home is Where the Heart Is

We favour locally-run accommodation and homestays for deeper cultural understanding. Share meals with families, learn traditional recipes around the fire, and experience daily life in matrilineal Khasi villages or remote Naga communities.

Slow Travel

A different way of travel—richer, more meaningful. Our journeys allow you to meet people, listen to their stories, contemplate sacred forests, discover hidden spots, and expect the unexpected. Small groups of ten or fewer ensure genuine connection.

A Voice for the Voiceless

We are the first travel agency in Northeast India to ban elephant safaris from our tours. Taming elephants cannot happen without abuse. We advocate for responsible wildlife encounters—observing rhinos and clouded leopards in their natural habitat, not exploiting them.

Leading the Green Path

Our local guides possess lifetime knowledge of the region. They help bridge boundaries through genuine connection. In remote places, we set up camp and ensure we leave the natural environment intact. We do not encourage "human safari"—respecting the privacy of indigenous peoples at all times.

Laurige Boyer

In 2007, I arrived in Northeast India searching for something beyond the ordinary travel experience. What I found was a region where ancient traditions thrive, where conservation heroes protect endangered species, and where tribal communities welcome travelers as friends, not spectators.

Seventeen years later, this is home. My wife Kriya designs our handicraft tours, sharing her deep knowledge of traditional weaving and natural dyes. Our team—locals who've lived these stories—guide journeys that transform how travelers see this extraordinary corner of India.

17 YEARS ON THE GROUND

Our founder Laurige has lived in India since 2007. His wife Kriya designs our handicraft tours. Our tech guy Alex speaks fluent Khasi. We don't visit these communities — we're family.

02

OUR CONTRIBUTION

We partner directly with conservation heroes across the Northeast. When you book with us, you can support hornbill nest adoption programs, elephant-friendly tea farms, gibbon rehabilitation centers, and former poachers turned forest protectors.

03

ACCESS OTHERS CAN'T

We take you to meet Padma Shri-awarded conservationists in their home villages. We arrange stays with the Hargila Army women who protect endangered storks. We guide treks with the guardians of living root bridges.

04

TRIP DESIGNED AROUND YOU

Every journey is 100% tailor-made. Tell us your dream — trekking with tribal hunters, photographing rare wildlife, learning peace silk weaving — and we'll design an itinerary that doesn't exist anywhere else.

05

WE HANDLE THE COMPLICATED PARTS

Arunachal Pradesh requires special Inner Line Permits. Some tribal areas need additional clearances. We manage all paperwork, logistics, and local coordination so you can focus entirely on the experience.

PART 2: Majuli Island Can you imagine the excitement of two five year olds on the day they would ride a ferryboat? Aboard the Gurkha jeep, we are back on the road again with two very enthusiatic kids. We were heading for Nimatighat in Jorhat which serves as a pier

for Majuli Island. The girls just couldn’t wait to board the ferryboat. When it arrived, they had already made plans of where they would sit and what they would climb. It had to be the terrace, they said. We sat

on sacks of sand lining the edge of the riverbank, patiently observing a slow system of organized chaos preparing for boarding. People, cargo, cars, bikes and scooters will soon pour...

PART 1: Kaziranga National Park The word "confinement" must mean different for each one of us, but we all yearn for the same thing- freedom. Freedom to be able to move about again, meet our friends, travel, and have that normal life we all once had. Even though my confinement

was a quiet life with my family in a forest home in Meghalaya, I still yearned to be free again. I felt deprived of the one thing that is not just my job, but my way of life. I was

longing to be back on the road traveling again. I was missing the people and the textures they brought to the different landscapes I visited on my tours. It made...

And how to apply it? The 2020 pandemic has been quite a challenge for tourism. In addition to the new sanitary measures that are and will have to be put in place by the authorities, hotels and touristic sites, many actors will have to rethink how they operate and how

they travel. In order to make the journey more authentic: to meet new cultures, to discover the natural wonders and to exchange with the locals. During the confinement, many places with high tourist traffic like Venice found themselves empty overnight

from one extreme to another. Deeply affected by the Covid-19 coronavirus epidemic, the population and the mayor of the city want to move from mass tourism to a softer economy...

In terms of responsible tourism, Northeast India is particularly exemplary. Few travelers know this, but it is one of the most important areas for biodiversity (Biodiversity Hotspot), where hundreds of tribal communities live in harmony with their environment. It is understood that many people and communities are engaged in the

conservation and preservation of species and their ecosystems and ancestral traditions which are deeply interlinked. Here is a humble tribute to the anonymous heroes who fight every day to save their environment and by extension our planet. These people often

take their entire lives to protect the environment. Check them out here: Assam Jadav Payeng Jadav "Molai" Payeng is an environmental activist from the Mishing tribe on Majuli Island. He...
